The registered midwifery programme is a six-semester (three year) diploma programme which trains the student to practice as a midwife. This programme is however opened to only females.
The purpose of the midwifery education is to enable the student midwife to obtain a qualification which makes her eligible for certification / license by the nursing and midwifery council, Ghana as well as one who will practice midwifery in any part of the country and beyond.
